These terms cover your use of robertsonhomerenovations.com and any estimate or job that starts from a request on this site. When you use the site or send a request, you agree to them.
Estimates are not binding
An estimate from Robertson Home Renovations, whether it comes through this site, by phone or in writing, is a first look at the job. It is not a contract, a promise to do the work or a fixed price.
A binding agreement needs a written proposal that both of us sign, along with any deposit we agree on.
Scope of the work
Before work starts, we give you a written scope that lists the job, the materials, the schedule and the total cost. Work starts when we both agree to that scope in writing.
If you ask for changes after signing, the cost and the schedule may change. We tell you about any change in writing before we make it.
Payment
The written agreement sets the payment terms. A standard job takes a deposit at the start and the balance when the work is done. We may pause or stop work if a payment we agreed on is not made.
Prices are in U.S. dollars. Material prices move with the market; if a material costs more than we quoted, we tell you before we go ahead.
License and insurance
Robertson Home Renovations holds Pennsylvania Home Improvement Contractor License #160723. Sean Robertson works as an independent contractor, and nothing in these terms or a job agreement makes you his employer.
Robertson Home Renovations carries insurance for the work it performs. Ask and we will send proof.
What we ask of you
So the work can go ahead, you agree to:
- give us access to the property during the working hours we agree on
- tell us about any condition you know of that could affect the job, such as buried utilities, structural problems or permit needs
- get any permit that is yours to get, unless the written agreement says we will get it
Limit of liability
Our liability for any claim about our work is limited to the amount you paid for that work. We are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, including loss of use of the property.
This limit does not apply to damage caused by gross negligence or willful misconduct.
Disputes
If a dispute comes up, we both agree to try to settle it in good faith by talking first. If that fails, the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania apply, and the courts of Allegheny County, PA, hear the case.
Using this website
This site gives information about our work. You may not use it in a way that breaks the law or that could damage or disable it. Robertson Home Renovations owns the content on this site, and you may not copy it without our permission.
